About the Role
The Research in Effective Education in Early Childhood (REEaCh) Centre, is looking for an accomplished academic to shape the future of teaching, research, and policy in this vital field. Combining scholarly rigour with innovative pedagogy, the role demands leadership in advancing research culture, securing impactful funding, and mentoring the next generation of academics. With a focus on driving evidence-based practices and influencing policy, the successful candidate will thrive on collaboration, inspiring excellence across teaching, research, and community engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Innovating and leading in teaching practices across early childhood learning and development, interactions, professional communication and contemporary language analysis techniques.
  • Translating research and professional expertise into custom education through engaging with industry and community. Conducting and leading impactful research in early childhood education, securing funding, and mentoring academics and graduate researchers to strengthen the REEaCh Centre’s research culture and advancing the Centre’s reputation for excellence.
  • Collaborating and engaging with internal and external partners to influence policy, advance practice, and develop strategic partnerships in the early childhood sector.
  • Supporting interdisciplinary initiatives and actively participating in professional and scholarly communities.

Who We Are Looking For
You are an accomplished academic with a deep expertise in early childhood education and a proven record of impactful research, teaching, and leadership. You have demonstrated excellence in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, alongside a robust track record of attracting research funding and publishing high-quality scholarship. You possess the ability to mentor and lead early career academics, fostering a vibrant research culture within the REEaCh Centre. Your innovative approach to teaching and commitment to advancing pedagogical practices will be complemented by your capacity to engage with government, professional organisations, and the wider community, contributing to policy development and public discourse. With exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you will thrive in both independent and team-oriented work, driving forward the strategic priorities of the faculty and making a lasting impact in the field of early childhood education.

You also have:

  • A doctoral degree in education or a related discipline, with a well-established track record in education and research, complemented by a robust portfolio of research publications.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional teaching in higher education, underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of diverse scholarship in early childhood education and care.
  • Expertise in language; development, interactions, professional communication and contemporary language analysis techniques.
  • The ability to contribute and collaborate to teaching and research teams and an understanding of interdisciplinary practice.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
