About the Role
This dynamic role as a Management Accountant provides crucial financial analysis support to the Chancellery Portfolios. You will be at the heart of financial decision-making, driving operational excellence through insightful data analysis and robust reporting. You will provide financial performance reporting, Hyperion workforce planning, and supporting strategic initiatives with impactful data-driven insights. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Business Partner and the wider Finance team, leveraging your strong analytical skills and excellent communication to influence key stakeholders and drive positive business outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- • Managing financial reporting, including monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and data entry in Hyperion/Workday for budgeting and forecasting.
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis, identifying process improvement opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance reporting and streamline operations.
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner in all aspects of the budgeting process, including forecasting, reporting, and Workday implementation.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong analytical mind and a passion for data. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional data analysis and reporting skills, including proficiency in tools like MicroStrategy, Power BI, and Workday. They must be a strong communicator with the ability to translate complex data into clear and concise insights for stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in higher education and a strong understanding of business intelligence principles are highly desirable.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce related discipline with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and/or training.
- CPA/CA qualification or working towards achieving certification.
- Advanced skills in the use of reporting and database enquiry tools (Microstrategy, Power BI, GL Wand, Workday, SQL or similar), including the ability to export data in other forms for analysis, and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft and relevant programs, e.g. MS Office suite including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Visio.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
