About the Role
The Senior Finance Officer supports the ongoing operations and digital transformation of transactional processes within Finance Services. This role focuses on salary recoveries, student loans, and bank reconciliations while gaining proficiency across a range of finance processes. By leveraging data analytics and exploring transformative technologies, the Senior Finance Officer plays a key role in driving service delivery improvements and enhancing efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and manage salary recovery processes from third-party organisations, ensuring tax compliance.
  • Manage student loan processes, including debt collection and prepare monthly loan reconciliations.
  • Develop reports for analysing trends in student loans and salary recoveries, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide support for debt collection efforts, process improvements, and respond to eCommerce customer service queries.

Who we are looking for
You will bring strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate initiative, problem-solving abilities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team, while contributing new ideas in a collaborative manner. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build positive relationships with a diverse range of people.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems such as Oracle R12 and Workday.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Adaptive service improvement methodologies and processes such as Student Loans and eCommerce.
  • CPA/CA qualification or currently working towards this.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
