About the Role
The Business Services Risk and Compliance Lead will oversee operational risk for shared services teams and conduct compliance reviews to ensure adherence to internal and external requirements. Working closely with the University's Risk function, they will manage risk registers and treatment plans. The Lead will collaborate with IT, Finance, HR, Health and Safety, and Facilities teams to enhance risk understanding and management. By providing policies, frameworks and tools, they will support managers in effectively managing their operational risks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of compliance and operational risk management
  • Enhance awareness and understanding of risk management concepts and practices among operational managers.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure effective risk management and reporting, including compliance with University policies and standards.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk and Compliance professional with experience in end-to-end risk management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to building relationships. They will be able to adapt their knowledge and experience to different operational contexts.

You will also have:

  • A degree in business, information technology, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Audit and risk related certifications (e.g. CRISC, CISA) are desirable
  • Proven experience in end-to-end risk management and compliance roles, with a focus on IT and/or non-IT operational areas.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
